Fifa Ranking : Indian Tigers reach 96th spot

The streak of 8 unbeatten matches with a record of winning last 13 matches out of the 15, has yet again been fruitful for the Indian football team as they rise to 96th spot in the Fifa Ranking which was updated on (6th July) . This is the second highest rank achieved by the Indian tigers , 94 still remains the highest rank which the team achieved in February 1996.

India’s recent form has been impressive with captain Sunil Chhetri leading from the front under the coaching of the Englishmen , Stephen Constantine . India were ranked 173 when Constantine took over yet again as the coach of the team . He targeted the top 100 ranking when he took over the charge and a valiant effort by him and the team have made them climb 77 places over the last 2 years , now ranking 96th in the world.

With rise in the rankings , its surely going to be a good future for Indian football as the money rich European League’s will also keep an eye on the Indian players . Playing for an European club will guarantee making a player more financially stable ,plus he can also learn and adopt to the style of European football which will benefit Indian football in many way.
