There has been debate over Virat Kohli allready being a great player with the best batting technique among the current active cricketers. Commenting on the same, former Australian International Steve Waugh says Virat Kohli has the best batting technique and is a big occasion player.

“He (Kohli) has got the game to survive anywhere, I think he’s got the best technique of anyone in world cricket,” Waugh was quoted as saying in Cricket.com.au, who draw Virat’s comparison with Brian Lara and Sir Vivian Richards.

“He and AB de Villiers have got the best techniques, and AB de Villiers is not playing Test cricket so that makes him (Kohli) the stand-out player.
“And he likes the big occasion like (Brian) Lara and Tendulkar and (Viv) Richards and Javed Miandad and all the great batsmen. They want the big occasion and that brings out the best in their cricket,” he added.
Kohli was the stand-out batsman for India in the first test, notching up 200 runs in two innings to take India close to victory. He will continue to be the batting spearhead for “The Men in Blue” in the second test at the iconic Lords.
