AB De Villiers retired from all forms of cricket after the conclusion of IPL season 11 and the Proteas man is surely enjoying his second innings of retirement from the game. The former captain will now feature in the various T20 leagues of the world and is enjoying all the drama that unfolds on the cricket ground.
He recently opened about India’s chances in Australia and said that the men in blue have a good chance of turning the results in their favour when they tour Australia for 4 match test series followed by 3 ODIs and 3 T20s.
Cricket experts around the world also claim that India has got a great chance to emerge as the winners on a tough tour to Australia as the hosts will be without the service of their main spearhead- David Warner and Steve Smith, who are facing a one year ban following the controversial Sand Paper gate controversy.
India are one of the best bowling unit currently- de Villiers
“They have a very good chance, to be honest with you. They came to South Africa, probably played better cricket (but lost 1-2). Lost in England now but once again first Test was on a knife’s edge and could have gone either way, which would have changed the whole complexion of the series,” said de Villiers.
“Going to Australia now, I think if they can keep the fast bowlers fit they have a very good chance. I saw some of the guys were not hundred per cent fit (Bumrah and Bhuvi but have recovered now). If they can get all the fast bowlers ready, if not the best, they are one of the best bowling attacks in the world at the moment. And we know what the batting unit is capable of,” added de Villiers.
Ab De feels India should make the most of the first test as it may prove important juncture to change the complexion of the series. He said that if Virat Kohli’s team would have went onto win the first test at South Africa and England tour, the results could have been much different.
