5- 2013 was the toughest time for MS Dhoni as he was accused of fixing allegations in IPL 2013 which took-down Sreesanth following spot-fixing claims. The 2013 Champions trophy turned out to be proving ground for Dhoni as he went onto lead a young Indian side to title triumph in a dominant fashion.
6- A dream certainly has a end someday and it came in Australia when India faced the heat down under in the test series. India was down and out in the series after Australia took a 2-0 lead in starting two test matches and it all came down to the Dhoni’s captaincy, which was criticized following India’s poor run.
Unexpectedly, he resigned from the captaincy and announced his retirement from test cricket after third test against Australia in Melbourne and it marked the end of Dhoni in whites.
He lead in 60 test matches, winning on 27 occasions and losing on 18 occasions. 15 matches ended in a draw.
7– Dhoni played his last match as ODI captain on 29 October 2016 against New Zealand in Visakhapatnam, which is the same venue where he scored his maiden ODI century against Pakistan in 2005. Interestingly, India won the match and took the evenly contested series 3-2.
After 3 months on 4 January, 2017, Dhoni resigned as the captain and handed over the baton to Virat Kohli
