In a historic move for the Republic of India, Home Minister Rajnath Singh announced in Rajya Sabha that the Modi government has decided to revoke the article 370 and 35A, which grants special status to Jammu & Kashmir. The state will now be divided into two union territories- Jammu & Kashmir with legislature and Ladakh without legislature.
Shah’s decision comes when Indian army has took the charge of the valley in huge numbers to eradicate the building tension and terrorist actions.
After the historical step, any other citizen of India can now purchase property in J&K and Ladakh and he can also do the job in the two union territories. The Union government can now declare an emergency in the state only in case of war or external aggression.
Shahid Afridi reacts
After the historic move by India, former Pakistani skipper Shahid Afridi has blasted the United Nations for not intervening. He further asked the help from United States of America.
“Kashmiris must be given their due rights as per #UN resolution. The rights of Freedom like all of us. Why was @UN created & why is it sleeping? The unprovoked aggression & crimes being committed in Kashmir against #Humanity must be noted. The @POTUS must play his role to mediate,” Afridi tweeted.

Former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir, who shares a fierce rivalry with Afridi since the Kanpur ODI in 2007, gave a befitting reply to the Pakistani cricketer.
“@SAfridiOfficial is spot on guys. There is “unprovoked aggression”, there r “crimes against humanity”. He shud be lauded for bringing this up. Only thing is he forgot to mention that all this is happening in “Pakistan Occupied Kashmir”. Don’t worry, will sort it out son!!!,” Gambhir tweeted.
