A high-level cricket ground has been prepared at the Gyanakalash International School in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. On Saturday, the grounds were inaugurated by Supreme Court Justice Vineet Saran, IPL Chairman Rajiv Shukla and UPCA Secretary Dr. Yudhveer Singh. He described the cricket ground as a gift for the players of the district.
Rajeev Shukla said that they are planning to expand IPL to women’s cricket. He noted that women’s cricket team is also performing brilliantly and they are ready to give the IPL platform to the women cricketers of India. Shukla said that preparations are underway to start women’s IPL.
At the same time, Justice Vineet Saran and IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla, who arrived to inaugurate the ground in Saharanpur on Saturday, appreciated the work. Both inspected the ground and tried their hands at the ball and bat. The pitch of the cricket ground, prepared in collaboration with Saharanpur District Cricket Association, has been prepared by international level pitch curator Shiv Kumar Yadav.
Appreciating the ground, Justice Vineet Saran asked budding players to work hard and advance in the field of sports. Rajeev Shukla said that Saharanpur cricketers have come forward in all levels of cricket except Team India which is possible by the efforts of SDCA.
More about women’s IPL
BCCI has allready organized two women’s IPL challenge in 2018 and 2019. In 2018, it was a one off match which was won by Supernovas led by Harmanpreet Kaur. In 2019, three round robin matches were contested between three teams with Supernovas winning their second title.
