Hardik Pandya arrived to International cricket in 2016 Australia T20 series where the young all-rounder impressed one and all. The man from Baroda soon got into the ODI and test team and became an integral part of the unit. Pandya brought his all-round skills into play that brought the right balance in the team and a permanent option for Virat Kohli to look at.
Hardik had a busy schedule this year and the long tour of England certainly was not a good happening for him. The 25-years-old was included in India’s squad for Asia Cup despite not being fully fit. The MVP of Indian team picked up a painful lower back injury during the high-profile clash against Pakistan and he had to sit out of the tournament.
Pandya eyes Australia ODI series return
Now after two months of being out of national contention, the junior Pandya recently took to the net sessions where he bowled after 60 days. He said that he is trying his level best to get back into shape and make a return to the ODI squad that will play against Australia, next year in January.
“I’m trying hard to be fit for the ODI series against Australia to start in January 2019. To get back to full fitness, I’m going through rigorous bowling sessions in Mumbai. I have just started bowling after 60 days. Once I bowl a few overs in the ODIs, I think I should be on the right track,” Pandya said in an event in Mumbai.
Pandya also expects an interesting series but backs the visitors to thump Australia, who are strong at their own backyard.
