KKR’s CEO issues a big statement on future of Gautam Gambhir with KKR. Delhi’s CEO clear the air on new captain of their team.

Hemant Dua clears the air on new captain of Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2018

IPL auction is allready underway and the intense bidding battle for picking the right players constituting for a perfect squad continues between the eight franchise. Ben Stokes have managed to get the highest bid of 12.50 crore going to Rajasthan Royals, whereas Manish Pandey and KL Rahul have been the top Indian buy with an amount of 11 crore each going to SRH and Kings XI Punjab respectively. However Delhi Daredevils CEO, Hemant Dua has allready clarified on the new captain of Delhi Daredevils allready going into the season 11. Whereas KKR’s CEO, Venky Mysore has issued a statement of Gautam Gambhir’s future with Kolkata Knight Riders.

Hemant Dua said, we are really happy to have Gautam back. He has been the Delhi boy all the way through. In between he went to KKR and did wonders for them and before that he played his role, now he is the filler and strength of Delhi cricket as such, so very happy to have him home back. We hope that he bring same strength to us and do great wonders.

On being asked for electing captain of Delhi Daredevils, Hemant said, Gautam has been the captain of KKR, he has captained Delhi Ranji team, so yeah he’s a big stuff in our team. He is a senior statesman cricketer, as we call, he has done wonders for KKR. We will leave this to the coach to decide, but he’s one of the top contenders.

Venky Mysore commented on this by saying, best wishes to Gauti who has done brilliant job for us, and big thanks for everything he has done. Just to clarify, he was very much in our plans in the auction, we wanted to use Right to match card on him. But he had a conversation with us well before, and felt that there might be different challenge, we didn’t know what it was. And we requested, but he refrained to be retained or use right to match on him.

We said, listen we don’t come in way of anyone’s progress or anyone’s aspirations, sorry to see him go, seven great years with us. I think he will be fantastic for Delhi. They are great franchise, and he’s going back home and best wishes to him.

With Venky’s statement, it is clear that KKR wanted to go for Gautam in the auctions. But he himself wanted to find a new challenge by going to another team. Later, Delhi Daredevils bought him and the things look clear for him to be crowned as the new skipper of the Delhi based franchise.
