The much hyped test series between India and Australia is slated to start from 6th December in Adelaide. Many cricket experts donned the prediction hat and predicted in the favour of India saying that Australia looks more than ordinary without the services of David Warner and Steve Smith who are facing a one year ban following the infamous sandpaper gate controversy.
IAN Chappel predicts in favour of Australia
Former Australia great IAN Chappel said that India will be miss something in the test series and will end up on the losing side despite being the more fancied opponent of the two sides. Chappel went onto say that Virat Kohli and company disappointed him by the way they played in England and they should have won the series.
“I am going to pick Australia, but don’t ask me why I am picking them. I think the only reasonable reason I can give is that I was disappointed the way India played in England and I thought they should have won that series,” Chappell told ‘ESPNCricinfo’.
“Certainly, on talent, they should beat this Australian side, but there might just be something missing. The other thing is the Australian attack.
“It is a very good one. It is proven under Australian conditions and the Indian attack is not proven under Australian conditions. So it is pretty flimsy evidence but I am going to pick Australia,” he added.
Missing Hardik Pandya will make India handicapped feels Chappel
Chappel somehow clairified the missing factor in Indian team and quipped that Virat Kohli and his team will miss the services of Hardik Pandya who added balance to the team. Pandya suffered a lower back injury in the Asia Cup 2018 but he is now back to the basics and ready to go. BCCI has asked him to prove his fitness in the Ranji trophy which may open doors for him in the Indian team for last two tests against Australia.
The former Australian captain also asserted that Virat Kohli will score heavily in the test series and the fierce Indian bowling attack will be added bonus for the visitors.
