After facing a setback in their first match, Toronot National clawed their way back by pipping Faf Du Plessis’ led Edmonton Royals by 2 wickets. Royals finished on 191/6 at the end of 20 overs courtesy last overs flourish by Shadab Khan and Ben Cutting. Nationals just took 17.5 overs to reach their target with 2 wickets in hand.
Skipper Du Plessis scored 28 off 18 balls to give a solid start to Royals. They lost quick wickets in the middle overs but the last five overs proved to be a complexion changing for them. Cutting scored 43 off 24 balls and Pakistani all-rounder Shadab Khan scored 36 off 17 balls.
Chasing 192 runs, the Toronto Nationals started poorly and they lost both the openers on the score of 29. Henrique Klassen (45 off 39 balls) and captain Yuvraj Singh (35 runs in 21 balls, 3 sixes and 3 fours) added 55 runs for the 3rd wicket to keep the team in the match. Yuvi came back in form and batted in vintage style to entertain the fans in the stadium.

After Yuvi’s dismissal, the innings of Toronto also got shattered and they were 125-7 at one stage. Manpreet Gony then came in the picture and smashed 33 runs off just 12 balls, including 3 sixes and 3 fours to take his side home form the jaws of defeat. In the end, Mark Montfort (10 *) and Salman Nazar (9 *) batted smartly to complete the formalities. Manpreet Gony was chosen the man of the match for his storming innings.
