R. Ashwin was once criticized for not picking wickets in the overseas tour but he turned the tide and proved instrumental off late, including his crucial 12 wickets in just 3 matches of the Australia test series which India eventually won 2-1. However, R Ashwin was dropped for all the four test matches in England last year and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was preferred over him with his exploits of being a proper batsman alongside with his spin.
Fans criticized Virat Kohli of being biased towards his “U19 days” friend Jadeja and dropping a world class spinner like R. Ashwin. However, one year later, Jasprit Bumrah leads the Indian team in the last test of the five match series and he again preferred Jadeja over R Ashwin.
