The much anticipated India vs Australia test series is just round the corner but the hype for the much awaited series is allready on its peak. India are yet to win a test series in Australia but the experts think that this may be India’s chance to forget the history and finally win a historic test series down under. India are currently ranked number 1 in test rankings in comparison to Australia who are ranked number 5, but history of being a poor team on overseas tour will haunt Virat Kohli and Co.

Ajinkya Rahane says Australia are favourites in the series

India’s vice captain has some different ideologies and said that Australia will start as the favourites of the much awaited test series. The Mumbai batsman went onto say that Australia will have the added advantage of having a great history against India at home and the favourable conditions despite missing some big names like Steve Smith and David Warner who are facing a one year ban following the infamous sandpaper gate controversy.

“I feel that any team that plays at home, they feel really good, and I feel that Australia are still the favourites to win the series. We are not going to take them lightly at all. Yes, they (will) miss Steve Smith and David Warner but I don’t think they are vulnerable,” Rahane said during a media interaction.

Rahane feels Aussies possess a great bowling line-up that can give trouble to the Indian batters.

“You see their bowling attack, they’ve got a really good bowling attack, and I think to win test matches, you need to have a really good bowling attack. So I feel that Australia are really still the favourites,” he added.

The Mumbaikar will hope to forget the horrific series of England and South Africa which was not as sweet for his personal point of view. The 30-years-old will hold the important number five slot for India in the batting order.
