After England have a dominant 2-0 lead over India, the focus now shifts to the third test in Nottingham with all to play for India, who will be eyeing a comeback to keep the series alive. On the other hand, a win for England will ensure a comprehensive series win over Number 1 test side in the world.
As usual England had declared their playing XI prior to the day of play. They have called-in their experienced all-rounder Ben Stokes and have ousted their in-form pacer Sam Curran. This move draw some criticism as Curran was the man of the match in the first test, he was pivotal with the ball as well with the bat in second innings.
In an all important clash England won the toss and choose to bowl first. India made two changes, debutant Rishabh Pant makes his debut, Shikhar Dhawan replaces Murali Vijay.
