India did not win a medal in recurve event of Incheon Asian Games and Atanu Das will be India’s best bet in the recurve event, who is the biggest hope after his 5th spot finish in the Rio Olympics. 2010 Asian Games silver medalist Tarundeep Rai skipped the trial.
Former world number one Deepika Kumari also made it into the team but finished second to Assamese archer Promila Daimary in the women’s recurve section.
Abhishek Verma made the cut in compound event, who topped the trial held in SAI Sonipat.
Bengal’s Trisha Deb will spearhead the women’s compound section alongside Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Muskan Kiran and Madhumita Kumari.
