Indian cricket team wear jersey with Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in his first tenure on 2 October 2014. At the beginning, he called upon the countrymen to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of a clean and green India. On the fifth anniversary of this campaign, Team India also participated in the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, remembering the Father of the Nation.

Today, with the 150th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, the Gandhi-Mandela series also started between India and South Africa under world test championship. The Indian team donned the jersey with the logo of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.t

The BCCI shared a photo on its Twitter handle giving information about the Indian team participating in the Swachh Bharat campaign. “#TeamIndia joins the #SwachhBharatAbhiyaan again as the sanitation revolution completes 5 years on Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary,” BCCI tweeted.

India in commanding position

Virat Kohli won the toss and choose to bat first at batsman friendly wicket of Visakhapatnam. Rohit Sharma opened the batting for the first time in red ball cricket and he proved his worth by notching up a century(115). Other opener Mayank Agarwal is unbeaten on 84 runs and both have added 202 runs for the first wicket to put India in a commanding position.
