Indian cricketers pay tribute to the heroes of 26/11 Mumbai Terror Attack

The country observed a teary anniversary of 26/11 attacks in Mumbai where heavy armored terrorists took the financial capital of India by surprise. Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists from the coastal city of Karachi, Pakistan fled to Mumbai, India by hijacking an Indian boat and then killing the sailor.

They attacked Leopald Cafe, Mumbai Central Railway Station, Cama Hospital and entered Oberoi Trident Hotel, Taj Mahal Hotel and Nariman Point to make hostages and kill the innocent people. One of the terrorist named Ajmal Amir Kasab was caught alive, thanks to the heroics of Shaheed Tukaram Omble who lost his life for the nation.

After a fierce battle which was fought for 4 days between the security units and the terrorists, Mumbai was safe but lost 175 lives, including 9 of the terrorists which infiltrated Mumbai.

The nation observed the 13th anniversary of the horrific event on Friday and Indian cricketers send their tributes to the heroes of 26/11.

Indian skipper who will return for the second test of the New Zealand series, said- We will never forget this day, we will never forget the lives lost. Sending my prayers to the friends and families who lost their loved ones

Former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad said- We owe a lot to these brave policemen , who not only laid down their lives to protect the motherland, but ensured Kasab was caught alive and the vicious plan to label this as a Hindu terror attack was busted . Naman to the heroes. Satyamev Jayate !

Former India opener Wasim Jaffer said- Remembering the exemplary courage and supreme sacrifice of our bravehearts today !

Former India opener Virender Sehwag said- 13 years since the sad day. He is of the greatest son of our soil- Shaheed Tukaram Omble. The courage, the presence of mind and the selflessness demonstrated by him on that day- no words,no awards can do justice. Dandavat pranam hai aise mahaan insaan ko .
