Rising javelin thrower Amit Kumar has tested positive for a banned substance during an exposure trip to Finland last month. Kumar had won a bronze medal at the recent National Inter-State Athletics Championships.
Athletics Federation of India has not made an official statement but sources close to the athlete confirmed that Amit has been handed interim suspension.
It has come to notice that Amit was tested in Finland during the exposure trip in June. The tests were performed by Finland’s anti doping unit on the instructions of Athletes Integrity Unit of the IAAF.

He was tested positive for excessive levels of testosterone that was present in the supplement, which he didn’t mention before filing the dope control form.
Amit could not make it to the Asian Games team as he fell short of the 81m mark in the qualification.
