Badminton World Championship will be held in Scotland
Olympic Silver medalist PV Sindhu and world’s 8th ranked men singles player Kidambi Srikanth have been seeded 4th and 8th in the BWF World badminton championship starting 21st August.
PV Sindhu has allready won 2 bronze at Badminton world championship of 2013 & 2014 , she has been given the 4th
seed below the 3rd seeded and current Olympic champion Carolina Marin of Spain. The runner up in World championship of 2015 and current world number 16 Saina Nehwal was allotted the 12th seed in the tournament. The current world number 1 ,Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei earlier took her name back from the premier badminton event post her injury concerns making way for Japanese Akane Yamaguchi and Korea’s Sung Ji Hyun taking the 1st and 2nd seed respectively.
Kidambi Srikanth, the 8th seed has been in impressive form after winning Indonesian and Australian open in a row and has been seeded after Lin Dan the two times Olympic and five times world champion. Indian challenge will get a boost with Ajay Jayaram & B. Sai Praneeth getting 13th and 15th seed respectively. World number 28 Sameer Verma will begin the tournament as a not seeded player .

The Indian men doubles pair of Manu Attri & Sumeeth Reddy will be high in confidence after winning the Lagos Internaational Challenge and will start their campaign as a non seeded pair . The young pair of Satwik Sairaj RankiReddy & Chirag Shetty will be eager to announce themselves at the international stage.
Women Doubles pair of Ashwini Ponaappa and Sikki Reddy will be eager to go a distance in the premier event of Badminton . Mixed Doubles will feature Pranaav Jerry Chopra & Sikki Reddy .
Badminton Association of India (BAI) named Indian squad for World Badminton Championships with 21 players making the cut . Pullela Gopichand alongside 7 other coaches and four support staff will accompany the squad for the event in Glasgow , Scotland.
