Over two weeks action of Tokyo Olympics comes to a halt today as the sports biggest event will come to a close after the closing ceremony. While it was Japan’s Naomi Osaka who lighted the Olympic torch, the Olympic torch will now be handed over to France, who will now host the Olympics in 2024 at Paris. Many events are lined up on the day, however India will not challenge in any sports on the day.
Indian contingent will just participate in the closing ceremony where Ravi Kumar Dahiya, who won the silver medal for the country may be the flag bearer. If Aditi Ashok or Neeraj Chopra can do better, they can also be in contention to be the flag bearer.
India’s challenge will come to a close with the javelin finals of Neeraj Chopra on 7th August from 5 PM.
