Naman Ojha

Naman Ojha ( born 20 July , 1983 ) is one of the talented cricketers who could not play for India. This Wicket keeper batsmen from Ujjain has done all the right things in the domestic circuit but still has failed to create an impact in the international arena.  As Naman turns 34 today, we bring you some of his interesting facts.

 

1:) Early days  :  Naman Ojha was born in the city of lord Mahakaleshwar (Ujjain), but grew up in the city of Ratlam. He was forced to stay in Indore as to get all the cricket amenities as well as a best practise paradise in Holkar stadium. 2:) IPL Days :  Ojha was unfortunate to remain unsold in the first edition of IPL held in 2008, but Rajasthan Royals did pick him in the 2nd edition. He got to open the innings after being benchrested for starting matches and created an impact through his blisterring and aggressive batting. He later went on to play for Delhi Daredevils from 2011-13 and now plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad as a regular keeper.

 

3:) Test Career :   He was selected for the Indian team touring Sri Lanka for the test series, but didn’t got a chance to play for the country. His debut match was also against Sri Lanka when he got to play in the 3rd test, scheduled in August 2015 replacing the injured Wridhimann Saha  He finished with 56 runs, 4 catches and 1 stumping.

4: Bollywood style wedding :  A weird incident happened at Ojha’s reception which was held in Ratlam. 25 caterers were kidnapped from the hotel and later the accused told that this kidnapping happened because they were paid money for it and also not letting the caterers from Indore work in Ratlam.

5:) Simple lifestyle : Despite being a star himself he still persue a simple life. When not playing cricket he simply loves to hang out with friends, watch movies.
