The build to the IPL season 12 has allready started as Mumbai Indians got the service of South African wicket-keeper batsman Quinton De Kock in an off season deal with Royal Challengers Bangalore. Mumbai Indians released Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman and Sri Lanka’s Akila Dhananjaya. Meanwhile, a report in ESPNCricinfo states that the venue and date of the upcoming IPL auction has also been released.
The auction for season 12 will not be a star studded affair with minimal players going under the hammer. It is learnt that the auction will be a one day affair in comparison to the season 11 auction, which was a two day affair in Bengaluru.
Auction date and venue
According to the reports, the auction for season 12 will be held on December 16, earlier January and February were the only months when the auctions were contested.
The auction for all the 11 seasons were held in the garden city of India- Bengaluru, however this time it will be held in Goa.
