Royal Challengers Bangalore’ Devdutt Padikkal made his IPL debut count with an innings of 56 off 42 balls. The Andhra born Karnataka bound cricketer lit the Dubai International stadium with his wide range of shots, with eight blistering boundaries.
Opening the batting with seasoned campaigner– Aaron Finch, Padikkal gave a solid start to RCB with an opening partnership of 90 runs before the 20-year-old fell to Vijay Shankar.
Padikkal punished Sandeep Sharma over midwicket to get started before clipping one past short fine to earn two boundaries. He then smashed SRH debutant T Natarajan for three fours in an over – one towards deep square, then over extra cover and the last one over deep midwicket.
Padikkal impressed with his fine display from the willow. His wide range of shots made the netizens believe that he is the xerox copy of former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh.
Here are few of the reactions-
Devdutt Padikkal reminds me somewhat of a certain Yuvraj Singh. Tall, elegant and a fearless striker of the ball. Already looking like a serious player on his debut.”..

Devdutt Padikkal reminds me of @YUVSTRONG12. Left-handed bat stands tall, high back lift, fluent shots on off-side, looks like a big hitter. WOW. Anybody else finding similarities with Yuvraj? #RCBVsSRH #IPL2020

Last IPL everyone thought Shivam Dube played like a young Yuvraj Singh. Perhaps, they should have waited a year longer for another RCB player.
