Welcome to our coverage of VIVO IPL Auction 2018 Day 2. On day 1 of the auction, 109 players went under the hammer, 78 were sold and 31 remained unsold. That forces an early start of the auction on day 2, which is schedule to start from 9.30 am IST. Over 400 players are yet to go under the hammer.

Day 1 saw the fierce bidding war amongst the eight franchise owners. Ben Stokes became the costliest buy when Rajasthan Royals bought him for 12.5 crore rupees. KL Rahul and Manish Pandey were the top Indian buy with a sum of 11 crore to each. Big names like Hashim Amla, Ishant Sharma, Murli Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Lasith Malinga were unsold on the first day. If the franchise wants, they can re-appear in the auction today.
