Even though the IPL’s 13th season is almost four months away, but the auction has created much hype. The auction for IPL 2020 is scheduled to be held on 19 December in Kolkata. The franchise team’s will not leave any stones unturned to pick their desired players which is necessary for a balanced squad. The fate of many unknown cricketers will be decided in Kolkata as the stage is all set for the fierce bidding war.
Its worth mentioning that Praveen Tambe(48) is the oldest cricketer to feature in the auction list while Noor Ahmed(14) of Afghanistan is the youngest.
Vivo IPL auction is scheduled to begin on December 19 at 2:30 pm in India. This is the first time that the IPL auction will be held in the afternoon as earlier it started in the morning and concluded in the evening. However, this time the players list is not that big that’s why it won’t take much time.
One can catch the broadcast live on all channels of Star Sports. It will be telecasted on 1 Hindi / 1 HD Hindi, Star Sports First, 1 Tamil, 1 Telugu, 1 Kannada, and 1 Bangla. This has been confirmed by Star Sports India from their official twitter account.
The final list of 332 players has been released, out of which only 73 players will be selected. Kings XI Punjab has the highest amount in their purse with 42.70 crore rupees.
There are four teams who can buy 10–10 players in the auction. The maximum 12 slots are lying with Royal Challengers Bangalore out of which they have to buy 6 foreign players. Delhi Capitals have 11 slots to fill which include five foreign players. Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have 11 slots, Kings XI Punjab have 9 slots, Hyderabad and Mumbai have 7 slots.
