IPL mega auction 2022: Full list of retained players, remaining purse

Things have started heating when it comes to the retention of the eight IPL teams, who would be looking forward to pick the right player to retain in their team, going into the mega auction. Two newly added teams of Lucknow and Ahmedabad will also have a close look at the retention so they can trade the players who are in their list.

Defending champions CSK have retained their skipper MS Dhoni and India stalwart Ravindra Jadeja alongside Englishman Moeen Ali and Ruturaj Gaikwad. This also means that door is closed for veteran southpaw Suresh Raina in the team alongside Faf du Plessis and to name a few. Mumbai Indians have rightly retained their skipper Rohit Sharma alongside Jasprit Bumrah. SuryaKumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard are the two other name to be retained by the team. Pandya brothers’ poor form in this year’s IPL have paid heavily on them and they might be looking for a new buyer in the mega auction.

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a season to forget and they may look forward to build a new team around Kane Williamson as their skipper. They also trusted uncapped Indian players from Kashmir- Abdul Samad and Umran Malik. Punjab Kings is one of the poorest performing team in the recent years and they retained pacer Arshdeep Singh and Mayank Agarwal.

Kolkata Knight Riders have retained Sunil Narine alongside Andre Russell and they also believed in Varun Chakravarthy and young sensation Venkatest Iyer. This may close doors for Eoin Morgan and Dinesh Karthik in the team. Royal Challengers Bangalore will look to add a captain to their team with Virat Kohli stepping down as the skipper this season and AB de Villiers announcing retirement. They have retained Glenn Maxwell and Virat Kohli in their team. Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj was also retained by the team.

Delhi Capitals have been solid in the recent years and they will finally look to win their maiden IPL trophy next season for which they have retained all-rounder Axar Patel alongside Prithvi Shaw and Proteas pacer Anrich Nortje. Rishabh Pant was also retained by the franchise and he will continue to lead the team.  Rajasthan Royals looked depleted in the absence of Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler for the second leg of IPL in September-October. They have retained skipper Sanju Samson alongside Jos Buttler and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal,
