India is blessed to have produced some world beating cricketers who have inspired a generation to take up the game and become one of the greats. The first real hero of Indian cricket is said to be Kapil Dev who lead an underlying Indian team to victory in 1983 world cup after beating heavyweights West Indies in the final. The trend continued and some big names like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli emerged.
However, there has been a wide debate over the greatest ever player to represent the nation and every one has their own set of view for their choices. National hero Kapil Dev has now stepped up and hailed MS Dhoni as the greatest ever cricketer from India.
Kapil Dev feels MS Dhoni is the greatest cricketer from India
“MS Dhoni is the greatest player India has ever produced. He played 90 Tests and then said let’s give a chance to the youngsters. Dhoni did that and hats off to him for putting his country before himself,”Kapil Dev was quoted as saying by Aaj Tak Agenda.
Dhoni has led India to victories in 2007 world T20 followed by 2011 world cup and 2013 Champions trophy. Currently, he is playing an instrumental role in shaping the youngsters in the team and also guiding skipper Virat Kohli on various occasions. India will count on his experience to win the 2019 world cup under the leadership of Virat Kohli.
