Rain has allready spoiled the play in the ongoing cricket world cup on four occasions. India’s clash against New Zealand was also called off due to rain in Nottingham and both the teams had to share points. India was the overwhelming favourites in the game against blackcaps but they overcame the disappointment by thrashing Pakistan in their very next game on June 16th.
Since then India pipped a low lying Afghanistan in a low scoring contest followed by a thumping win against West Indies. In the do or die clash for England against India, The Three Lions managed to keep their semi final hopes alive by beating India by 31 runs. The men in blue next faced a determined Bangladesh in their next clash and registered a 28 run victory to seal the semi-final berth.
Now before the knockouts, Indian team will face a dejected Sri Lanka who are allready out from the race of semi-final and it will offer a good opportunity for Virat Kohli led side to test their preparation before the business end of the tournament.
