Miller started his career at Celtic in 2000. He moved from Glasgow to Manchester United on a free transfer, making 22 appearances under Sir Alex Ferguson in two seasons – which included a spell on loan at Leeds – before moving on to Sunderland in 2006.
Miller was part of the Black Cats squad that won promotion to the Premier League in 2007 before he joined QPR two years later.
Miller ended his career in the United States in 2016, having also played for three clubs in Australia and his hometown club Cork City before retiring.

Celtic said they were “deeply saddened”, adding that their “thoughts are with his family and friends”.
