After the most successful day for India at CWG 2018, courtesy of two gold medals by Sathish Sivalingam and Venkat Rahul, Indian athletes will look to continue the quest for gold on the fourth day of the competition. Athletics events will get underway from the 4th day alongside shooting, where eight Indian shooters will look to hit the bulls eye. Three weightlifting events are also lined up for the day, which promises to be a medal prospect for India. Indian women’s table tennis team will play their semi final and hopefully the final later in the day. Indian mixed badminton team will also square off in the semi finals. 18:24 pm: SWIMMING: India’s Sajan Prakash finishes fifth with a timing of 54.12s in 100m Men’s Butterfly semis.

18:13 pm: Basketball: India men’s team lose 81-96 to Scotland in their preliminary Round Pool B match.

17:59 pm: India wins 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze in the day.


Gold for India!

17:35 pm: History is created, India thump Singapore 3-1 to win gold in women’s table tennis event. Wins for doubles pair of Madhurika/Mouma and Manika Batra in two matches.


16:41 pm: In a dramatic match, India pip Wales 4-3, courtesy of a 59′ minute goal by SV Sunil. A sigh of relief for Indian camp.


16:37 pm: SV Sunil scores on a rebound for India to give India a 4-3 lead over Wales, with just 2 minutes to play.


16:30 pm: Wales level back courtesy of a PC goal. Troubles for India with 3 minutes to play. Wales 3-3 India.


16:28 pm: Harmanpreet Singh converts a PC by a fierce angular flick in the bottom left corner to give India a 3-2 lead over Wales.


16:10 pm: With one quarter left to play, lower ranked Wales draw level with India in men’s hockey Pool B match.


What a start for India!

15:45 pm: Manika Batra defeats world number 4 Feng Tianwei and creates a huge upset, to give India the early 1-0 lead over Singapore in women’s table tennis gold medal match. Batra is world ranked 58.


14:50 pm: India’s Lovlina Borgohain looses in women’s 69kg quarter final to Sandy Ryan of England.


14:23 pm: England pip Australia 3-1 to take the bronze in women’s table tennis event. Next up is gold medal match between India and Singapore.


13:48 pm: India’s Tejinder Singh qualifies for the finals of men’s shot put, with a best throw of 19.10m.

13:10 pm: In Men’s Rings Final, Rakesh Patra has finished bottom of the list. He scores 5.900 for difficulty and 7.033 for execution for a combined 12.933.

12:20 pm: India’s Vikas Thakur wins bronze in men’s 94 kg weightlifting. This is the second medal in weightlifting for India at the 4th day


12:00 pm: Muhammad Anas Yahiya wins his heat with a time of 45.96 of men’s 400m, qualifies for the semi-final.


11:53 am: Heartbreak for India! Sankiya Sheikh finishes at 4th spot in women’s skeet final, narrowly misses on a medal.


11:30 am: India’s Saniya Sheikh competing in women’s skeet final. Currently at bronze medal position.

08:05 am: Manu Bhaker continues her glorious run and wins a gold with a strong statement in CWG, she scores 240.9 which is a Games record. Heena Sidhu wins the silver medal with sore of 234.0.

7:54 am: After 14 shots in women’s 10m air pistol, Manu Bhaker is at gold medal position with a score of 141.5. Heena Sindhu at the 6th spot and in bother of an elimination.

06.35 am: Soumya Baby has been disqualified by the officials under IAAF Rule 230.6 which says “Repeated failure to comply with the definition of Race Walking.”

Khushbir Kaur posts time of 1:39:21 to finish fourth and outside the podium places.


06.00 am: Heena Sidhu and Manu Bhaker have qualified for the final of the Women’s 10m Air Pistol final. Big medal hope there.


4.30 am: First result of the day comes from Men’s 20km Race Walk: Manish Singh finishes sixth with time of 1:22:22 while KT Irfan finishes 13th with :127:34.
