Roma’s Sporting Director Monchi have confirmed Brazilian international Alisson Becker’s transfer to Liverpool. Becker is expected to sign for Liverpool on a five-year deal worth 75 million euros which will make him the most expensive goalkeeper in history.

It is learned that the 25-year-old goalkeeper was on Liverpool’s radar from several months.

The Mirror claim that Becker landed in Liverpool on Thursday to undergo a medical and eventually sign a contract with the Reds.

‘Alisson to Liverpool deal will be official soon. We haven’t finalized anything yet. But it is true that the negotiations are advanced and he’s over in Liverpool now,’ said Monchi as quoted by The Mirror.

‘When a very substantial offer comes in, you have to consider it. We weighed up the pros and cons and decided to speak to Liverpool.’ He added.

Liverpool are eyeing to sign a new goalkeeper after the poor performance by Loris Karius in the champions league final lose to Real Madrid 3-1.

Italian website Forza Roma, which is affiliated to newspaper La Gazzetta Dello Sport, published a video which showed Alisson at Rome’s Ciampino airport. It is learned that he boarded a private jet to Manchester and went to Liverpool from there for a medical on Saturday.

“Greetings to Roma fans. I’m sorry but I cannot say any more, I’ll say everything later,” Allison said in the video.
