Indian Under 19 team has received all the applause for their dominant display in the Under 19 World Cup 2018. The team remained unbeaten for six consecutive matches and finished the tournament with top honours. Lok Sabha congratulates Indian Under 19 team
The Prithvi Shaw led team finished top of their tables. They defeated Bangladesh in the quarter finals followed by a dominant win over Pakistan. And finally an impressive show against Australia in the finals by 8 wickets.
The youngsters have display the right attitude to play for the senior side. Likes of Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill and Kamlesh Nagarkoti have been the find of the tournament for India, if they manage to continue their good run in domestic cricket, selectors may push them in the senior team sooner than later. Cricket experts have praised BCCI for giving right exposure to young Indians in the domestic cricket. Likes of Prithvi Shaw and Kamlesh Nagarkoti have been a known commodity in domestic cricket. BCCI also announced several cash prizes for the players, coach and support staff. However a congratulatory wish coming from any senior politician may be the best inspiration for uplifting the morale of these young guns. The government didn’t dissapoint as Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan read a congratulatory speech before the budget session.
