The Lankan legend feels Pakistan can hit back India if they qualify for the finals by defeating Bangladesh in a virtual semi-final which takes place tomorrow. Pakistan will be high on confidence after getting hammered in the group stage clash of champions trophy 2017 and then dominating the proceedings in final against India, winning by 180 runs.
“Their potential opponents (Pakistan) in the final have, meanwhile, struggled with inconsistency throughout the tournament. That does not mean they will not provide a threat to India because they both have the potential to lift their game,” Jayawardene wrote.
The final will take place on 28th September at Dubai International stadium.
