In what comes as a special achievement, former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni completes 500 international matches during the second T20 International against England. Dhoni who celebrates his 37th birthday on Saturday became the third Indian after Sachin Tendulkar(664) and Rahul Dravid (509) to complete 500 match barrier in International career.

Today’s T20 International was Dhoni’s 92nd T20 appearance in the bleed blue colours.

Dhoni has played 90 Test matches for Indian before retiring from the longest format in 2014 Australia tour. He has also played 318 One Day Internationals so far.

In 90 Tests, he had scored 4876 runs with six hundreds and 33 half centuries. And in the 318 ODIs, he has so far scored 9967 runs with 10 centuries and 67 half centuries.

In 499 international matches so far, he has taken 602 catches and effected 178 stumping.

Dhoni who turned 37 today is still the fastest in the team and continues to be a force to reckon with in an age when other cricketers tend to retire and continue to be expert or commentators.
