Ever since the start of the world cup, there has been a wide debate over the most balanced side of the tournament. To make this easier for the viewers and cricket fans, former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif has revealed the most balanced side of World Cup 2019.
During the commentary of England vs Afghanistan game, a twitter user asked about the most balanced side of the world cup to which Kaif replied with “India”.
“Chahal and Kuldeep will play a big role in the middle overs. Bumrah is bowling well and Shami will also bowl well if he will get a chance to play. Hardik Pandya leaks runs but he is a wicket taking bowler, Kedar Jadhav has a side arm action after which the ball does not bounce much which fetches him the wickets. So we have six bowlers who contribute. That’s why ill pick India,” Kaif said.
“Our openers are in form, Virat Kohli is in form, MS Dhoni is in form, no player is there in the team who is struggling with lack of form. There were questions on who will bat at number four, but we have got all the answers in these three matches. The Indian team played impressively,” he added.
India’s journey so far
India started their world cup campaign on a positive note after they pipped a determined South Africa in their world cup opener by 6 wickets. They next pipped a much fancied and top contenders- Australia in their next clash by 36 runs to take two wins in as many matches. Their third game against New Zealand was washed off due to rain in Nottingham.
In the biggest rivalry of world cricket, India faced Pakistan in their fourth fixture and they pipped the Sarfaraz Ahmed led team by a huge margin of 89 runs to take a lead of 7-0 against men in green in the world cup history.
They will be up against Afghanistan in their next clash on Saturday in Southampton.
