More troubles for Mohammed Shami in relation to his wive Hasin Jahan

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami’s problems are in no mood to spare him as he was asked to appear by Kolkata’s Alipore Court in connection with the cheque bounce issue filed by his estranged wife Hasin Jahan.

Earlier, Jahan had demanded 10 lakh rupees maintenance fee per month for her and her daughter.

The fight between the two couples got the limelight when Jahan shared a series of posts on Facebook and WhatsApp chats on 7 march. She accused Shami of cheating on her and abusing her physically and mentally.

Hasin Jahan lodged a FIR in Kolkata’s Jadavpur police station under several Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections, including section 498A, which amounts to cruelty to a woman by her husband or his relatives. The other charges recorded against Shami are under Section 307 – attempt to murder, Section 323 – punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 376 – rape, Section 506 – criminal intimidation, Section 328 and Section 34.

Shami’s mother Anjuman-Ara-Begum, brother Hasib Ahamed, Hasib’s wife Shama and Shabina Ahjum, Shami’s sister are among those who have been named in the FIR.

Shami didn’t have an impressive IPL season with Delhi daredevils but was named in the Indian squad for historic one-off test against Afghanistan. He was later ruled out following a injury but made his return to the Indian squad for England test series, starting 1 August.
