Mahendra Singh Dhoni has managed to keep his personal life away from professional life and very few would have known him in private life. Dhoni’s team-mate in CSK- Shane Watson once revealed that off the field he used to sleep and would never arrive in the team dining. Dhoni may give every sort of advice to the youngsters on the field but the story may not be the same when he is not playing cricket.

Dhoni, 37, recently captained India for the 200th time in Asia Cup when stand-in captain Rohit Sharma and his deputy Shikhar Dhawan were rested in a dead rubber against Afghanistan which eventually resulted in a tie.

Cricket Australia dedicated a video to Dhoni as he became the first Asian cricketer to captain his side in 200 ODI games. George Bailey who was part of CSK under the leadership of Dhoni revealed some of the facts from his personal life.

Bailey explains how Dhoni bonds with the youngsters in the team

“He likes smoking a bit of the sheesha or the hookah. So, he quite often would set that up in his room, and it was very much open door policy. You would go in and quite often find a lot of younger players there,” Bailey said in the video message.

Praising Dhoni’s ability to stay calm in crunch situations

“He’s just a picture of calmness and sereneness. It’s pretty amazing. I mean all the Indian players the pressure they play under in and the scrutiny that they face but MS… I’m sure if he does feel pressure, I have never seen it. I have seen walk him to the wicket with games all but impossible to win and he finds a way to get you home,”he added.
