There are reports that the franchise might not risk playing Dhoni in the next game against the Rajasthan Royals, in the case if he plays, he will not keep the wickets.
Dhoni missed team’s practice session on Wednesday. He was back as the “Vintage Dhoni” by slamming a 44-ball unbeaten 79 against Kings XI Punjab but had to pay the price by suffering a back injury. However, the team is relieved by the return of Suresh Raina in the practice session, who is most likely to be in the playing 11 for the next encounter against Rajasthan Royals at MCA stadium in Pune.
There is a possibility that Dhoni might play only as a batsman, opening the door for Tamil Nadu wicket-keeper N. Jagadeesan to put on the gloves. Ambati Rayudu is another option who has kept the wickets for his former team Mumbai Indians..
