MS Dhoni will bring new energy and enthusiasm to the young Indian team. His inclusion will strengthen the team to look for more precise results in ODI series. Dhoni only plays limited overs format for India, but is still considered one of the fittest and fastest despite being 36 years old.
Dhoni’s unorthodox keeping skills may not be according to cricket rule book, but he still is effective and top the charts of best keeper in the world. His skills are invaluable for any team he plays for, and India is lucky to have a wicket-keeper like him.
MS Dhoni may be rightly called the DRS specialist of the Indian team. Virat Kohli always prefers Dhoni’s decision on whether to take the DRS or not. The Indian captain enjoys an efficiency of 85% in DRS decisions, which is an invulnerable number for any opposition to look forward.
The man from Ranchi can also complete the landmark of 10,000 ODI runs in the series. He is just 102 runs short of what promises to be an incredible record. If he manages to join the 10k club, he will become only the fourth Indian batsman after Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid to join the elite club.
The helicopter shot specialist didn’t enjoy the luxury of any warm-up matches before the start of the series. However, he made the most of the net session, before the first ODI.
BCCI shared a video of MS Dhoni at the net session ahead of 1st ODI at Kingsmead on their official twitter:
