MS Dhoni returns to the nets for the first time since World Cup but still unavailable for selection

Former Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was recently seen doing net practice at Jharkhand state cricket association stadium in his hometown Ranchi. Dhoni was seen practicing in the nets for the first time ever since India’s defeat in the World Cup, the video of which is going viral on social media.

In the video, Dhoni is seen practicing in the nets, in which the caption reads, ‘MS Dhoni’s first net session after a long break‘. However, Dhoni is unlikely to play in the limited-overs series against the West Indies next month. Dhoni has not played any competitive match since the World Cup semi-final against New Zealand in July.

After making himself unavailable for South Africa and Bangladesh series, the veteran of 350 ODIs was expected to return for Windies series but his unavailability has again brought sorrow amongst his fans who have lost hope of seeing him back in the blue jersey.

He has raised hopes of returning to the national team when he practised at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi on Thursday. However, he will be unavailable for the three T20s and three ODI series against West Indies starting in Mumbai from December 6.

He is not available for the West Indies series.” India Today quoted a report as saying.
