MS Dhoni has been a cricketer, a bike lover, a foodie, an army man, a successful entrepreneur and much more but he is all set to appear in a new role. The veteran of 350 ODIs will now been seen behind the lens as he is all set to produce his maiden television show, which will feature the stories of army officers.
Studionext in collaboration with Dhoni will bring the anthology of episodic stories based of army. Dhoni holds a honorary lieutenant colonel post in the parachute regiment of Indian army and there can be no one better than him to be in this role.
“During his sabbatical from sports, Dhoni spent a lot of time with army officers. He even went on to complete a two-week stint with India’s Territorial Army. That’s how he got to know more about the brave soldiers. He understood the soldiers and their families’ hardships. Wanting to bring their story to the fore, Dhoni decided to bankroll this project.”
“The show will narrate stories of the brave Param Vir Chakra and Ashoka Chakra awardees. With compelling stories and intriguing content on board, the show is slated for a 2020 release,” a source close to Dhoni was quoted by Indian Express.
Dhoni aims to bring the stories of braveheart army officers to television. Currently, the show is been scripted and the team is sorting out all the formalities to kickstart the journey.

MS Dhoni last featured in India’s world cup semi final clash against New Zealand where they have to end up on the losing side. After the marquee ICC event, Dhoni made himself unavailable for selection for West Indies tour and went to terrorist prone area of Awantipura in South Kashmir to serve for his army battalion. He further made himself unavailable for selection for the South Africa and Bangladesh tour which made the fans worry about his future with the national team.
The selectors didn’t name him in the West Indies series as well that put question mark on his International career. Fans on twitter believe that they might have to wait till IPL 2020 to see the most successful limited overs captain that the country has ever produced back in action.
