Brazilian star forward Neymar rejects speculation of leaving PSG, insisting he planned to remain with French giants. The 26-year old striker who became the costliest buy in football history last year after moving to PSG from Barcelona for a record 222 million Euro was speculated to be on a La Liga return. It is learned that Real Madrid is linked with Neymar to find the ideal replacement for Ronaldo, who turned up for Juventus in a shocking move.

“I’ll stay. I have a contract with PSG and I’ve chosen to be there for the challenge, for new things and higher goals,” Neymar told Fox Sports at his charitable “Instituto Neymar’ auction gala.

“I won’t change my head about it, i hope we can have a successful season, with new silverware, too.

“The press enjoys creating rumours, but everyone knows how much I care about PSG.”

Kylian Mbappe who was named best young player of the tournament after helping France win the World Cup has also been in talks for Real Madrid transfer. Neymar, though, is delighted to again come together with the 19-year old sensation under new PSG coach Thomas Tuchel.

“He’s a phenomenon, a great player. We knew that for a while, I am with him on a daily basis and know just how much quality he has. I’m very happy for him for the World Cup, for the title,” Neymar added.

Neymar, who became the world’s most expensive footballer last year after moving to PSG from Barcelona in a record 222 million euro ($264 million) deal, has repeatedly been linked to a move to Real Madrid.

Madrid has also declined the news of having interest in the Brazilian forward

“In the face of the constant reports linking PSG’s Neymar Jr. to our club, Real Madrid C. F. wish to clarify that the club has no intention of making any offer for the player,” a Real Madrid statement said last week.

“The two clubs enjoy an excellent relationship and, as such, if Real Madrid were at any stage to consider securing the services of a PSG player, they would approach the club in the first instance.
