The two match test series between world ranked number 1 India and world ranked number 8 West Indies is underway at Rajkot. India captain Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat first in a batting friendly paradise of Saurashtra cricket association stadium. Young Prithvi Shaw made his test debut in the match and opened the innings alongside KL Rahul.
India suffered an early blow as Rahul was dismissed on duck which brought Cheteshwar Pujara to the crease. The duo added 206 runs for 2nd wicket and took India to drivers seat. However, an incident related to Cheteshwar Pujara got all the attention of the fans and it was surely a once in a while moment.
What’s in the pocked of Pujara ?
The Rajkot heat is giving a tough time to the players to stay on the crease with soaring sun high up in the horizon. The heat forced the 12th man to rush to the field after every over and provide with the fluids to the players to stay hydrated. However, Pujara found a unique way to not lose his focus after the overs and kept the water bottle in his pocket to take the sip whenever he required and kept the 12th man out of the play that surely kept his focus intact. This may be the first time when a player kept a bottle in his pocket.
The move also benefited Pujara as he went onto play an innings of 86 runs.
