"Once a Cheater always a cheater"- Pakistani fans react as India thump Bangladesh by 5 runs in a rain halted match

India escaped a major scare as they pip Bangladesh in a rain halted world cup encounter at Adelaide Oval on Wednesday by 5 runs. After losing the toss, India were asked to bat first in an overcast condition and on a wicket which gets better while chasing during lights. Rohit Sharma(2 off 8) fell cheaply but out of form KL Rahul showed form and amassed a half century of just 32 balls that included four boundaries and three monstrous sixes. He survived a crucial spell of Taskin Ahmed who looked in great form with the ball.

Man of the match- Virat Kohli(64 off 44) again showed class and held the Indian innings when wickets were tumbling on the other end. Some final over flourish by Ashwin and Kohli saw India reach a score of 184 runs in 20 overs. Hasan Mahmud who dropped the catch of skipper Rohit Sharma came back to bowl to dismiss the Mumbai lad and thereafter picked two wickets more to chip in with figures of 3/47. Skipper Shakib finished with the figures of 2/33.

Bangladesh got off the a dream start courtesy Liton Kumar Das’ flier of an innings upfront. He never let the Indian pace duo of Arshdeep and Bhuvneshwar get settled and completed his half century in just 21 balls, which is the second fastest fifty in this world cup after Marcus Stoinis stunning half ton off just 17 balls against Sri Lanka that took the Aussies home.

Bangladesh were 66/0 at the end of 7 overs and Das scored 59 of those runs while Najmul Hossain was struggling with 7 off 26 balls before rain halted the proceedings. Pakistani fans would have been amused by the results if rain would have washed the match as the Bangla Tigers were 17 runs ahead according to DLS method which would have given chance to Pakistan’s case for a semi final berth.

But rain had other plans and it stopped to pave the way for the match which was cut short to 16 overs and the target for Bangladesh then read 85 runs of 54 balls which was not liked by the Pakistani fans. They claimed that ICC is helping BCCI for a semi final berth and that the revised DLS target was not right as Bangladesh was 17 runs ahead and didn’t lose a wicket.
