Indian bowlers proved fatal on a wicket which didn’t had much to offer for the bowlers. The pace trio of Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami picked 14 out of 19 wickets in the two innings to help India register a convincing win over Bangladesh by an innings and 130 runs in the first test at Indore.
With this thumping victory, India led the two match series 1-0 and take 60 points to consolidate their number one position in ICC world test championship with 300 points. Historically, India didn’t produce much quality pacer bowlers that can be termed as best in the world but IPL and strong domestic structure has now boosted Indian cricket with world class bowlers, who have the right to call themselves best in the world.Indian captain Virat Kohli praised his fast bowlers after winning the Test match against Bangladesh within three days on Saturday. Virat Kohli said that the India team have a ‘dream combination’ of fast bowlers, who can destroy the batting of any team and at any day.
Kohli further said that the team is also performing brilliantly without its main spearhead- Jasprit Bumrah, who is currently sidelined due to injury. At the post match ceremony, Kohli said that these player (fast bowlers) are in a great rhythm.
“These guys are on top of their game, when they bowl, it looks like any pitch is a good pitch, Jasprit isn’t here but this is a dream combination for any captain. Having strong bowlers is the most important thing in any team. The numbers and records are there for everyone to see, that’ll remain in the books, we haven’t focused on it,” Kohli said.
The Indian team will now take the field in the second test against Bangladesh in the historic day/night test played with the pink ball at Eden Gardens in Kolkata from 22nd November.
