Pakistan gives a hilarious reason to ban broadcast of IPL in the country

D Sport ban the broadcast of recently concluded edition of Pakistan Super League in the protest of the Pulwama terrorist attack which killed more than 40 army personals in South Kashmir. The broadcast was made available in the play off stage but the league is mostly watched by the Indian audience and the unavailability of the pool stage games incurred a loss in debts of Pakistan cricket board.

In response, Pakistan banned the broadcast of Indian Premier League in the country after Pakistan’s Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry confirmed the news on Tuesday.

“India made an organized effort to harm cricket in Pakistan and it doesn’t make sense for us to allow an Indian domestic tournament to be promoted here,” he said.

Production company IMG Reliance also pulled out of producing the television coverage of the PSL to worldwide audience.

Chaudhary further claimed that IMG Reliance pulled out “to harm the league and cricket” in Pakistan.

He further said that his country has refrained from mixing cricket with politics “We think that political differences should not interfere with sport and cultural activities. But we saw that limits were crossed when the Indian team played their match wearing army caps”, Chaudhary said as quoted by Economic Times.
