Pro Kabaddi League was a revolution for Indian and world Kabaddi but within a few times it has become an evolution. The viewership of the game has been on a significant rise from starting season to the fifth season. The viewership increased by 50% in the last season with four new teams joining the event. Pro Kabaddi next season, promises to even be bigger and better.
The league is based on the format of Indian Premier League. According to a recent survey by Digitalsporty, Pro Kabaddi is the second most viewed and second most famous league in India after IPL. The league has left behind Hockey India League, Premier Badminton League that were started way before. Pro Kabaddi’s governing body announced the arrival of next season from 19th October, 2018.

Star India has played a vital role in success of the league. Kabaddi was a game which was only famous in rural parts of India. But Star India has urbanized the game by their great spirits and amazing presentation. So far, Star India has invested a huge sum of money in the league, including Rs.150 crore in the first season in 2014.
This amount is really high than the annual sports budget given to Prasar Bharti, which is lower than 4 crore rupees. Government would also have failed to take the game to new heights where Star India has taken.
After five blockbuster season, fans were in anticipation of knowing the arrival of Pro Kabaddi next season. And to entertain their vast interest for the game the governing body has announced the date of next season.
The sixth edition of the league will kickstart on 19th October. The schedule is still not out, but we will keep you updated on the same.
There will be 12 participating teams in the league. They are Telugu Titans, Tamil Thalaivas, U Mumba, Puneri Paltan, Bengaluru Bulls, UP Yoddhas, Dabang Delhi, Patna Pirates, Haryana Steelers, Bengal Warriors, Jaipur Pink Panthers and Gujarat Fortunegiants.
