The build to the upcoming cricket world cup has allready started with all the 10 participating teams making sure that they get the right combination before the start of the marquee event. The world cup will get underway from May 30 and will continue till July 14.
England are the firm favourites to lift the trophy, however some experts claim India to be a force to reckon with alongside Pakistan, who will be high in confidence after triumph in 2017 champions trophy in English conditions.
Rahul Dravid predicts the winner
Indian team is high on confidence after winning the Asia cup in 2018 followed by the victories in West Indies, Australia and New Zealand ODI series. India A coach Rahul Dravid was highly impressed with the team and said that the men in blue will be one to beat in the world cup.
“I think India are playing very good cricket at the moment and go in as one of the favourites. Hopefully, we will peak in the next few months,” Dravid was quoted by Times of India.
Dravid further said that the wickets in England have become flat and will offer help to the batsman to pile up huge scores.
“Wickets will be very flat in England and I expect it to be quite a high-scoring World Cup. When we were in England with A team, 300 was regularly scored,” said Dravid who was member of India’s 2003 world cup squad that lost to Australia in the finals.
