Indian coach Ravi Shastri has finally brought a dead end to the speculation of MS Dhoni’s retirement from all forms of cricket. Shastri has clarified that the former skipper took the match ball from the on-field umpires during the third ODI against England ‘to show the ball to India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun.
“MS wanted to show the ball to Bharat Arun. He wanted to show him the wear and tear the ball had endured, to get a general idea of what the conditions were like,” Shastri was quoted as saying to the Times of India.
There were few rumours of the legend retiring from cricket when he took the match ball from umpires after England cruised to a 8 wickets victory to seal the ODI series 2-1. There were speculations that Dhoni who has failed to score runs at healthy pace in the series will finally hung his boots after this event at Leeds.
