India will be eying their 8th SAFF championship title when they face a resurgent Maldives in the finals. The Blue Tigers had allready defeated Maldives and Sri Lanka in the group stage clash with same scoring margin of 2-0.
India pipped Pakistan 3-1 in the semi-final in an evenly contested first half. The second half proved to be a goal fest as India managed 3 goals and Pakistan also found the net on one occasion.
Maldives were clinical in their semi-final clash against Nepal, where they won 3-0 courtesy of Ibrahim Waheed Hassan’s brilliance. He will be one player who can create a difference in the final and Indian defenders needs to mark him carefully.
