Never rising career of Kerala’s wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson has again faced a setback as he was pulled out of the India ‘A’ tour of England. The Rajasthan Royals batsman has failed the Yo-Yo test and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not allowed him to be with the India “A” team.

The Shreyas Iyer-led India “A” side has left for England on Sunday but Samson was left behind. There was no information on his score in the Yo-Yo test but Mirror has learnt that Samson has fallen way short of the prescribed 16.1 mark.
Sources in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore have revealed that Samson appeared for the fitness test three days ago along with other team mates. Non conclusive reports say he had a few niggles because of which he could not train well, resulting in the low score in Yo-Yo test.
Remember, YO YO test is set as benchmark by BCCI to test the fitness level of cricketers.
Samson was part of the India ‘A’ side which will take part in a triangular series with hosts England Lions and West Indies ‘A’ being the other two teams. The one-day tri-series is followed by three ‘A’ Tests in July for which Samson was not picked.
Samson was the second top scorer for Rajasthan Royals this IPL with 441 runs in 15 matches, including 3 half centuries and 1 blistering ton.
